Vocalise School Workshops:
Lizz's transition from Performer to Vocal Coach began a few years ago when she was asked to vocally co-ordinate a local children's pop choir. Working with young people aged 8 to 16, Lizz taught them not only how to get the most out of their voices individually but also how to sing together and harmonise, using all of their favourite chart hits!
Following the success of this, the Vocalise Singing Studio are now offering Vocal Workshops to schools for children aged 5 and up. The content of each workshop can be tailored to suit the particular age group but a brief outline can be found below:
Introduction to Singing
This covers the basic techniques required for successful singing, including simple vocal exercises which are highly effective but also fun to learn! By the end of the session, the group will have been taught to sing a whole song together in unison. Perfect for end of term recitals or assembly performances.
Harmony Workshop - Beginners
Firstly introduces the group to the concept of harmony singing and why/how it is used in modern Pop songs. The group is then split into two or three groups and taught to sing a song, incorporating harmonies. An optional addition to this workshop is to then play the group a song, which has no harmonies recorded on it. The group is then split back into their harmony groups from the first segment to work together and come up with some harmonies of their own.
Harmony Workshop - Advanced
As with the Beginners option but with more harmony groups and more complex vocal arrangements. The group will also be played a heavily harmonised piece to see if they can hear how many parts are being sung. For even more advanced groups, a song may be taught Acapella (with no music).

Lizz has been fully CRB checked and has extensive experience in working with people of all ages and abilities. All song choices will be fully monitored and assessed for suitability before any workshop is undertaken and Lizz will happily work closely with each School and Teacher to ensure the needs of the classes are met. For larger groups and/or where required, additional coaches can attend, all of whom are fully experienced and CRB checked.
